We rode through the night in the rain. Through villages, forests and farm fields. In most places the rain was light and in other places quite heavy but the roads were always wet. With good rain gear and fenders we were doing pretty well with the weather but we have not been able to eat like we wanted to. It was light out now and some local village shops were starting to open but I could not really find anything to eat so we kept riding. At the first controle in Villaines La Juhel I had a big meal to compensate and ate a little too much. This slowed us down a bit but was necessary for me to continue. After a meal things started to look up a little bit and the sun even came out for a time. We had now been up for 24 hours and on the bike for over 9 hours.
